12/22/20-Since the prior entry (11/26/20), there have been several buys and sales among our basic 25 holdings. These were redeemed: FBND; IBCP; MCY; PDM; PEY; PFBI; RSP; SCHD; VBF; VCIT; VDE; and ZM. Shares in these were purchased: BL; CTRE; NAVI; PFE; PKBK; RDFN; SNOW; UPWK; VBR; VOO; VTV; and ZG. The basic 25 thus now include: AWF; BHK; BL; CDNS; CRWD; CTRE; DDOG; DHT; DOCU; NAVI; NET; PAYC; PFE; PFG; PKBK; RDFN; SNOW; TRTN; UPWK; VBR; VIOO; VOO; VTV; XLE; and ZG. The total annual dividends from portfolio holdings target for 2020 of $50,000 having been achieved, we are working on making the new total dividends target for 2021 of at least $54,000. Toward that end, a significant proportion of stocks or exchange traded funds in our basic 25 assets have a higher than market yield, ten of them together averaging 6.17% a year. Since 11/26/20, liquid assets are up $79,804 or 4.46% and now total $1,867,919. Bond assets plus reserves represent about one-third of total liquid assets, the rest being equities, most of which are from the above basic 25 securities. Net total assets (including real estate and all other holdings) are up 14.71% since the end of last year, a gain so far in 2020 of $279,986. Our nest egg stands at $2,183,419. Surprisingly, considering everything going on in 2020, this is turning out to be a better than usual year for our portfolio and likely for the overall market as well.

This diary is intended for personal interest and general information only. You are advised to do your own research (as well as to consult highly compensated professionals) before spending money on anything. I know of no reason anyone should take my financial musings seriously. At best I am a dedicated amateur providing a bit of investment-related insight and entertainment, at worst an amusing diversion. My wife, Fran, and I may at times own shares of some of the assets mentioned here. But neither of us receive any benefit from reference to them, unless you count the mutual misery when we get it wrong, or the opportunity to gloat when we get it right.
