10/05/01-Scandalous wealth while billions struggle through utter scarcity for everything there is a season a time to live a time to die none to blame no point to cry but the way things are as one creature stalks and eats another if it can the first to survive yet awhile and be eaten in its turn so wars are natural effects and causes of other organic logical consequences our doves prolific and secure invite the hawks' predation and feathers fall as one season follows another the rise and descent of civilizations no nation remains forever at its zenith bubbles burst the brewing pot's liquids churn and boil idle to assume one's current fortunes constant will this too pass the end of many early prophets and revolutionaries much the same jesus came not to bring peace but the sword and a time will come in your country brother when I shall separate the sheep from the goats for there shall be an old ideology of cold hate yet a fresh magnificent mother teresa francis of assisi inspired loving passion else in all the desolate desperate world a people live out days and nights of confusion misstep chasing after false gods this battle will not be by bombs and bullets won her steps rapidly slapped down the hall too late to save her patient who died alone helpless the pipeline lifeline streaming liquid another surprising explosive horror the anthrax bacterium not enough gas masks pox vaccines empty gurneys brave new viruses holes in the hallowed ground atomic mushrooms the steel thrust through tender artery walls the sudden loss of cabin pressure ripped out of her seat and fired her into the wild blue to arc and drift aloft a corporeal kite the air sucked out unconscious long before she plunged beneath the seas the twenty-first century every day a new terror...
