11/30/02-Severed ties afloat a moonless night in my house now a boat on the vast empty sea all in dark hues dim grays and black briefly the residence rests on a tiny wave-lapped bar of sand that protrudes where my first floor had been gently rested here for a moment unstable the slightest new rush of tide or tempest and I'm once more adrift the ocean bed five miles below the nearest coast five hundred leagues distant the sky cloud-filled a hand's breadth above the rocking roof the abode begins to settle the waves rush in no light nor communication utterly alone moorings cut cold...

11/26/02-Smiling greeters ringing bells harassed or excited holiday shoppers eager to spend consume support the economy racing frenetically in store aisles and powerful vehicles on rain slicked streets bloody body mass jam red crumpled sedan stalling traffic a thing like that could ruin your whole forty proof spirits on display promising relief keeping depression at bay...

11/9/02-On an infinite plane an infant alone afraid great grief lacrimae rerum the tears of things it furthers one to have lovers and friends yet existence is existentialist all companions leave us we die in isolation misunderstanding alienation estrangement no lasting bonds we are nothing we take nothing with us we mean nothing without awareness finally the tornadic winds of reality shall blow asunder all our ego illusions deep sighs for lost loves lasting bonds competing religious and political fairy tales all the tempests of the biospheric condition empires wealth pride in youth in physical allurement in wit in brilliance talent creativity in excellence of health in pure consciousness come to nada yet for all that we remain tellers of and listeners to and moved by tales of deep truth if only of a child abandoned forever ultimately alone on a perfectly flat endless and empty plane...
