3/31/05-Window open distant dog's bark wind in the trees artificial light row on row of religious books cold comfort against death's intimate embrace a freshening breeze caresses my skin icons relics gathering dust the body a clock with no rewinding knob or chargeable battery molecule by molecule running down yet today moments of perfection in the street a child rode by on her bicycle dark hair eyes intent earnest gaze muscles relaxed then taut relaxed again her face looking worried but bemused by my little canine companion another younger girl saw the pet instantly squealed her delight and clapped to behold such a sight two teenage girls in braces and pigtails laughed and reached out to touch her friendly eager preciousness such a chick magnet...




3/21/05-Soft fresh earth distracting aroma morning steaming waiting roots arms hard stretching muscles pull forgotten upsoaring old tree sobbing wind bending birds awing storming playing dog eyes alight smiling face excited breath inattention infant crying canine smell cetaceans depth plumping giant squid stalking fighting obsessing sleep living something crucial dreaming awake dreams something important awaiting recollection waiting nearly recalling something too many words saying late losing forever lost shovels pitch load lift and swing dark loam falling...
