5/23/04-Cool her flesh against my chest the windows open curtains billowing in rain now loud heavy after the earlier explosive nearby thunder and lightning she half rose and tasted her drink looked appraisingly at my face I think I'll stay the night if it's alright certainly I said heartily but giving nothing away you may stay in my bed I'll show you where and I'll stay out here of course I added the fire in the den was getting low little flames licked at piles of embers all aglow the tiny random flashes of light playing on our torsos I kissed her then long and hungrily my fingers caressing her cheeks her ears my lips then passionately focusing lower on her breasts my arms pulling her into me her legs now wrapped 'round and drew me more snugly against her while she embraced my head and kissed it through the hair her tongue circling then and exploring one ear we sighed together coming up for air slowly I separated from her and got up then her eyes silently questioning perhaps you'd like to take a shower before bed I said and gently led her to a large bathing room set out a couple big towels closed the door and left a short while later I could hear the water the pipes roaring with its flow I gave myself a sponge bath noting curiously the fall and rise of my tumescence as my thoughts flitted about remembering the contours of her form anticipating the new pleasures our bodies might take in one another yet I was not content I wished for a better rein on my senses and their passions I dimmed the light further by covering some of the remaining embers with dark spent ashes I lay down on the pallet in the den closed my eyes and counted repeating slowly one to ten the storm was stirring again a fresh volley of blasts coming nearer between them after a long while I could hear through the open doors her quiet movements in the bedroom the soft bare slap of her feet on the stone floor the covers being turned down then silence except for my breathing the intermittent cacophony of the swiftly approaching storm the pounding of my own beating blood surging through my flesh her bare footfalls once more down the hall then coming through the door she called then quietly almost whispering phil I'm frightened of the thunder and you mustn't sleep there on the floor won't you come and hold me come join me and be with me till morn' then I lost my private battle my mind warring seeking and losing a measured response to all the world I forgot to count my breathing to watch my wayward feelings or sensations as the cloudburst again overtook us vibrating the house with its blasts writhing the limbs of my greatest trees the curtains now flying like flags caught in that compelling breeze I took her hand and held her and led us then to bed...
