8/31/05-Life persists in the tenuous just right goldilocks boundaries between extremes of famine and obese feasting liquid and solid light or heavy cold and hot vaporous gases or empty void purity and pollution fixed irrevocable past or uncertain future lucidity and inebriation tempest or calm pressure and vacuum the merest whiff of certain chemicals may kill us put us to sleep render us mad or offer us visions of supposed divinity for all our apparent cleverness to solve the riddles of creation and existence as a species we lack true wisdom and are at the mercy both of our own folly and the forces to which we refuse to adapt yet nature will not long be denied preeminence as with the stones succumbing to geological transformations we may be polished to perfection or simply ground down into the dust from which we first appeared our hubris notwithstanding terrorism tsunamis viral plague or katrinas remind of mortality ours may be an interesting dramatic and amusing story yet it is short...




8/13/05-Lung cancer ice pick pain in center chest friend's sister dead barbequed freshly cooked chicken leaking hot oil green mesquite sticky fingers tabasco saucy sweaty waitress dirty brassiere overweight bubbas chowing down bright sky fran off to harvy's for plants and pictures light rock radio white folks the minority now time to give others a chance hope they don't mess up even more than we did these final days bizarre things keep happening intelligent design the science of superstitious anti-intellectuals going to alaska want to see glaciers before they or we disappear biotech nanotech wmd robots clones supercomputers new climate imbedded identity chips anti-terrorism the world wide web the change of life everywhere dying but not what our religious zealots promised nor of our poets' visions not as anyone imagined for the end a multi-dimensional discord each precious last moment preserved forever vibrating incredibly tiny strings you me all sentient beings the universe totally jazzed...
